QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTING:
GokartsUSA's initial testing of the GTC Torque Converter proved highly successful. The TC2 was road tested on a Little Bad Ass Minichopper with a 5hp Tecumseh Engine. The TC2 model 1002 was used which has a 3/4" Bore and #40/41P Chain. The performance impressed our technicians. The low end power and torque was strong enough to raise the front wheel with just barely applying the throttle. Take off and acceleration was also remarkably impressive. Taking on a steep hill from a complete stop, the TC2 smoothly down shifted and pulled the 200 pound rider up the hill with ease. On level ground, at maximum throttle, the TC2 shifted into a very high overdrive ratio and gave us an impressive top speed of 52mph from this stock 5hp Tecumseh. All in all, the TC2 performed significantly better than the stock TAV2 the bike originally came with

High Performance
|
The TC2 is a High Performance asymmetrical torque converter system in which the sheave faces have different angles. The system operates with the torque sensing cam in an outboard position allowing for in-line operation of the unit. The primary benefit of this design is that it allows proper alignment of the final drive chain to be on the same side of the vehicle as the torque converter. Moreover, the angle on the movable sheave being set at 18 degrees enables the unit to raise the belt to a larger pitch diameter with less travel of the sheave. This allows the unit to achieve higher overdrive ratios at maximum RPM

OPERATION OF THE TC2
|
The TC2 provides Neutral engagement at Engine Idle. At 2200 RPM, the system engages for a Powerful Low Ratio for great takeoff speed. At Mid Range, the TC2 instantaneously shifts ratios based upon RPM and Load Requirements. Finally, the High Performance Overdrive engages for maximum speed

TAV2 copy quality is lacking

After 5hrs of use the snap ring peeled off and bearing came out. Installed new bearings and welded 5/8 shaft instead of having snap ring. We'll see how long this lasts.
RESPONSE: Deanna, make sure to install the pilot washer in front of the snap ring on the jackshaft. Then, make sure you torque the jamnut to no more than 11 pounds, Any more and the snap ring will pop off during operation. Thanks, the Gokarts USA Team

Ordered this system for a baja mini bike. Installation was very simple. Had to bend the jack shaft tab down and adjust the rear tire all the way forward and that was it. Bike now accelerates crazy fast and climbs hills with ease here in the mountains. My son weighs 220 lbs and it now runs with my reaction 250 buggy in a drag race. What a blast!!

After placing 3 separate orders with other stores and having them all cancelled, we finally got it here. All 3 websites showed the comet TAV in stock but none of them had them. We got the GTC and it installed on our gokart which hadnt been driven in 3 years. It runs great. Highly recommended

I Installed TC2s on 2 Baja Heat Mini Bikes with 196cc Honda Clones. They performed Fantastic, incredible, I love it! If you put you feet on the ground and hit the gas, it will stand up! The acceleration is Crazy fast, almost instantaneous. The Top End Speed is around 38-40 mph, which is crazy for a mini bike!
The Install Instructions were very good and easy to follow. I think the jack shaft axle should have a threaded bolt retainer instead of an e-clip. The drive pulley is hard to hold while being torqued, and you should include threadlocker.

Well, I got my TC2 after waiting about 2 weeks. At the time I ordered it, it was on backorder. They tell me now it is in stock and ships out in 1 day. I got the 3/4 inch model and installed it on my bike with a Honda 5.5 (clone) engine. The take off power is great, it pops a wheelie off the line. It accelerates nicely and gives me great top end speed. It came with good install directions and I was able to install it in less than an hour. I know there are a lot of people out there looking for a torque converter so i thought I would post my comments here. All in all, I am very happy with the TC2 and very glad that they are available.
