This popular clutch is used as standard equipment by my most Manufacturers including Yerf Dog, Manco, Kenbar, Kartco, Taco and many others. Use Engine Crankshaft Diameter and Chain Size to determine the appropriate clutch needed. Most 5 and 6hp 4cycle engines (Tecumseh, Briggs,etc) have a 3/4" shaft and typically use #35 chain. Larger HP engines typically have a 1" shaft and may use #40/41 chain.

Engine crankshafts typically have a keyway. A Key is a small metal wedge that installs between the clutch and crankshaft to keep the clutch from spinning. A Key is included free when you order a clutch.

If you order the Tecumseh 5 or 6hp engine we sell, choose clutch 2224, 2225 or 2230. The 13 tooth clutch will give you more top end speed wheras the the 12 tooth will give you a faster take-off.
