ATV Disclaimer & Safety Information
Riding an ATV can be dangerous. To ensure your safety proper protective
gear should always be worn. Remember to always wear a helmet, eye protection
and protective clothing. Never ride on paved surfaces or public roads. Never
carry passengers unless the ATV is specifically engineered to accommodate them.
Riding at excessive speeds or engaging in stunt riding is extremely dangerous.
Be extremely careful on difficult or unknown terrain. Never ride while under
the influence of drugs or alcohol. Many ATVs are recommended only for highly
experienced riders 16 years and older. Please make sure that you are riding
an ATV that is age appropriate. Riders younger than 16 years of age should always
be supervised by an adult. We recommend that all ATV riders take an approved
ATV training course and read their vehicle owner's manual thoroughly. When riding
your ATV always stay on established trails in approved areas. Keep your riding
areas clean and respect the rights of others. Always obtain permission before
riding on private lands, and obey all the laws and regulations governing your
riding areas.
Powersports
is a real cool hobby to take up but it is best to know something about the sport
before venturing into it. Making sure your product is safe to ride in will help
you prolong the life of the vehicle and your own as well! Reading this article
will give you a clear understanding of the safety methods you can adopt
Product Setup
and Maintenance
A Qualified Mechanic
Must perform Final Assembly and Setup of your Product Before Operating
Failure by the Customer
to have a Qualified Mechanic perform the Setup of a Powersports product can
result in Injury or Death.
You are purchasing a
product Factory Direct. The Product arrives in a crate and must be uncrated
and properly assembled and setup prior to operation.
All of the nuts, bolts,
screws and linkages should be regularly checked to make sure that the product
is safe to ride again. The engine should be kept dirt free and you need to
be extra vigilant about the throttle linkage area. Tire pressure should be
checked and psi topped up to required standard before every use. You will
get the recommended inflation pressure figures on tire wall. Incorrect pressure
results in instability and poor steering and braking.
Products
have different guards including the chain guard, torque converter guard, jack
shaft guard and belt clutch guard. When repair work is required, you have to
remove the relevant guard first. The covers are there for the riders protection
and care should be taken to replace them correctly after the repair work is
completed and prior to running the product.
General safety
When your go kart starts
to vibrate abnormally or make funny noises, its a warning sign that something
is wrong. Turn off the engine immediately and then disconnect the spark plug
wire. Usually an excessive amount of noise or vibration indicates loose or
worn out parts.
Powersports
products should be stored in a place free of gasoline fumes to avoid sparks
being ignited; this could lead to a full blown fire. Winter storage of the product
requires you to drain the tank completely if it is a fuel operated product.
Choose a cool, open space to perform the draining operation rather than an enclosed
or warm place. The engine should have completely cooled off before you store
it away
Your product
manual and other literature that was supplied with the product should be kept
very safely. You will find the need to refer to the product operation manual
when repair work needs to be performed. If you no longer have the product documentation,
contact the manufacturer to obtain a copy before operating the product.
Products
with a single seat are meant for one person and the double seat for two people.
Do not even think of attempting to ride a product without being seated and securing
your seat belt when applicable
